FragPunk Optimization Tool

 

With this update we're introducing FragPunk's optimization tool, aimed at players who have installed the game on an HDD. This tool enhances overall game performance and player experience by migrating certain files to the C drive.

 

1. How does this optimization tool work? 

 

The optimization tool migrates certain game files to the C drive. By doing this, two disks process resources when running the game, thus improving overall performance and reducing lag.

 

2. How do I run the optimization tool?

 

You can run the optimization tool by double clicking the “MoveAndLinkAllEXE.bat” file under the game installation directory (Disk:\FragPunk\Support\HDDOpt) and following the instructions. The optimization tool will migrate certain game files to “C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\FragPunk” after you accept (about 1GB of disk space is required on the C drive).

 

3. Can I choose not to install this update? 

 

This optimization update only targets players who've installed the game on an HDD with a different installation directory than the AppData folder. 
Running the optimization tool is completely voluntary. Before it runs, players can choose whether or not to use it. If players opt not to install the update, it will not impact the normal startup of their game.

 

4. Can I revert the migration of files? 

 

Yes. If players wish to revert the migration of files to their original installation directory, they can simply click on the file named “RevertMoveAndLinkAllExe.bat,” and all migrations will be undone.

 

5. My client shows as corrupted after the data migration, what should I do?

 

There is a very small chance that the client may become corrupted after data migration, and we sincerely apologize for this. If this happens, please try using the repair tool from NetEase Launcher or Steam to fix the client or re-download it. If the problem persists, please contact customer service and provide a description of the issue; we'll do our best to help you resolve it as quickly as possible.
